Helmut long

Helmut Lang was born in Austria in 1956 and began designing in his hometown of Vienna in 1977 despite a lack of formal education. He showed his clothes for the first time in Paris in 1986, which was also the year he founded his label.

"Quintessential minimalism" emerges when you think of Helmut Lang. He is undoubtedly one of the most influential designers in the last three decades, and his legacy still resonates across borders today. The iconic designer was pioneering minimalism in the 90s with his sharp tailor-made and androgynous, utilitarian products adorned with bondage straps and harnesses.

He introduced Streetwear to High-Fashion, invented the designer jersey, modeled clothing on bulletproof vests and was a pioneer experimenting with technical materials and manufactured military bob. He was also one of the first designers to show co-ed shows, and he broke a new way in 1998 as the first designer of the story to stream a Runway Show Online.
