New Balance sneakers are a result of more than 100 years of dedicated brand history. New Balance was founded in 1906 by William J.Riley, a Britih emigrant residing in the Boston area. He firstly focused on designing flexible three support points, which would provide greater balance and comfort in the shoe. The story tells that Riley came up with the name "New Balance" by observing chickens and their patterns of movement. Based on his observations he came to the conclusion that the three-clawed chicken foot generated the most perfect balance. Wiliam Riley swore that he would replicate this perfect balance into running shoes, which eventually later became New Balance sneakers. The first New Balance edition became highly successful and was used by Athletes all over the US. New Balance is different in the sense that a very large majority of their New Balance sneakers production is based in either the US or Great Britain, compared to other sports brands who have outsourced production to Asia. The "made in the US/UK" productions are particular attractive to sneaker enthusiasts due to the remarkable high quality found in New Balance sneakers.
